Grand Junction Guild Programs – May & June

MAY
On May 9, Julie Silber, quilt historian, appraiser, and curator of the Esprit Quilt Collection in California, will present a trunk show called “Show Me! Rare and Historic Quilts” at the Sunset Slope Quilters’ monthly meeting on May 9 at 9 am in Grand Junction. She will also present a more humorous lecture/trunk show at the 7 pm Colorado West Quilters Guild meeting. Non-member guest fees are $10 for SSQ and $5 for CWQG. Julie will lead a workshop the following day on dating fabrics and antique quilts at the Grand Junction Clarion Hotel from 9 to 4. $62 for non-members covers the workshop and lunch. Students will learn about dating fabrics and why one quilt is worth more than another of the same pattern. Bring a pre-1960 quilt to discuss, and Julie will make a verbal appraisal.

SSQ meets at 9 am on the second Wednesday of the month at the American Lutheran Church, 631 26-1/2 Road. CWQG also meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 pm the First Christian Church at 1326 N. 1st Street in Grand Junction.
